10 things to do in Casablanca – Morocco
1./ Visiter la mosquée Hassan II.
C’est la seule mosquée d’Afrique qui ouvre ses portes si l’on n’est pas musulman. Il s’agit de la 3ème plus grande au monde après la Mecque et Medina en Arabie Saoudite. Construite sur la mer les 9 hectares du lieu sont composés d’un immense parvis ou 120 000 personnes peuvent se regrouper pour prier, d’une école coranique et de la mosquée en elle-même. L’édifice construit par un architecte français est spectaculaire. Près de 10 000 artisans ont travaillé en choisissant les meilleurs matériaux et créant les plus précieux détails. La salle d’ablution au sous-sol est absolument incroyable.
1./ Visit the Hassan II Mosque
The only mosque in Africa that you are allowed to visit even if you are not a Muslim. It is the third largest in the world after Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia. Built on the sea, the 9 hectares of the site are composed of a huge square where up to 120,000 people can gather to pray, a Koranic school and the mosque itself. The building by a French architect is spectacular. Nearly 10,000 artisans have worked for choosing the best materials and creating the most precious details. The ablution room in the basement is just incredible.
2./ Prendre un petit déjeuner à la Sqala.
Dans un décor typique oriental on déguste toutes sortes de spécialités marocaine : œuf berbère, crêpes, thé à la menthe, lait d’amande à la fleur d’oranger, petits gâteaux… A ne pas rater !

3./ Diner ou prendre un café au Rick’s Café.
Une américaine a eu l’idée de reproduire à l’identique le restaurant du film « Casablanca » dans une ancienne maison traditionnelle. Le décor est absolument magnifique.

4./ Se balader dans le quartier des Habous.
On se laisse porter à travers les arcades en pierres, typique de ce célèbre quartier ou toutes sortes de produits sont vendus. Essayer de trouver le coin des olives c’est un plaisir pour les yeux !

We let ourselves be carried through the stone arcades, typical of this famous district where you may buy all kinds of products. Trying to find the olive corner is a pleasure for the eyes!
5./ Marcher sur la corniche en longeant la mer.
En fin de journée la balade est sympa et offre une vue sur le coucher de soleil splendide.

6./ Prendre un thé face à la mer au Cabestan.
Haut lieu de la jeunesse dorée à Casa c’est tous les soirs le rendez-vous pour faire la fête. En journée l’endroit plus calme est parfait pour admirer la mer.

7./ Sortir dans les bar hipster.
Pour changer du clinquant il n’y a pas mieux que de déguster un verre de vin rouge au Vertigo avant d’aller danser au Brooklyn sur du son électro !

8./ Déjeuner sur un roof top.
Au Doge qui est la terrasse d’un Relais et Château. L’accueil est sympa et l’endroit au calme.

9./ Manger du poisson sur la plage.
Aller en dehors de la ville jusqu’à Tamaris puis aux restaurants de plage Chez Serge ou aux 3 Mâts. Les sardines sont à tomber.

10./ Explorer la vieille médina.
Tout de blanc et de boiseries vêtue la vieille médina est à voir si on veut se balader un peu et sortir des grands axes.
